Our High Performance competitors worked hard to prepare for the 2020 Canadian Taekwondo National Championships in Quebec, Laval on January 18-19, 2020. They have been training hard with their coaches for the past year and gave it their all every session. When it came down to it on the competition mats, our competitors proved that their blood, sweat, and tears were worth it. Our team won a total of 8 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze medals for Team BC! 7 of our athletes will be representing Canada at the 2020 Worlds Taekwondo Poomsae Championships in Denmark in May. We appreciate everyone who helped lead the team to victory. Thank you to thank all the masters, coaches, teammates and parents from Vancouver, Toronto, and Calgary. We wouldn't be able to accomplish so much without them, it is a team effort after all!
At this competition, our athletes not only strengthened their skills and confidence, but they also strengthened their friendship with other athletes and teammates across Canada. Although medals and trophies build success, it is friendship and companionship that builds character and lasting memories. Medals rust, while friendships are meant to last a lifetime.
